Yeshua Wants You to Seek Him

Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask, Seek, Knock

Silhouette of a person pushing open large doors with bright sunlight streaming in.

(Luke 11:9-13) 7 "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock. 9 Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? 10 Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 As flawed as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! 12 "Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the essence of the Law of Moses and the spiritual teachings of the prophets. Forgiveness, as highlighted in these Bible guidance principles, can be a challenging process, yet it offers liberation and brings peace to the soul. Matthew 7:7-12

The Narrow Gate

Ask, Seek, Knock

Golden gates open amidst soft, colorful clouds under a bright blue sky.

(Luke 13:24) 13 "Go in through the narrow gate, as Bible guidance suggests, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it. 14 But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it, in line with the spiritual teachings found in Matthew 7:13-14, echoing Yeshua's teachings.

I Never Knew You

I Never Knew You

A glowing silhouette of a figure with outstretched arms amidst radiant clouds and beams of light.

(Luke 13.25-27) 21 "Not everyone who calls me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who follow the Bible guidance and do what my Father in heaven wants them to do. 22 When the Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!’ 23 Then I will say to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!’ These words echo the spiritual teachings found in Matthew 7:21-23, reminding us of the importance of truly living out the Yeshua teachings.

Ask, Seek, Knock Explanation

Ask, Seek and Knock

In the Bible, "ask, seek, and knock" (found in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:9-10) describes an escalating, persistent, and active approach to prayer and seeking God, emphasizing that God, as a good Father, longs to give good things, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit to those who continually reach out to Him. Asking is petitioning, seeking is actively searching, and knocking is persistent action, all signifying deep engagement with God to find His presence and will.

Jesus Christ waiting to for you to knock on his door.

The Meaning of Each Word

  • Ask(to ask, beg, crave): To approach God in prayer with particular petitions, outlining wants and needs, and have faith that He hears and cares.

  • Seek(to seek, look for): Actively seek God's presence, His ways, and His Kingdom, making Him the center of your life and longing for Him.

  • Knock(to strike, beat a door): To keep approaching God with persistence, frequently with greater intensity, anticipating that He will open doors and give access, as in Luke 11, where it is related to receiving the Holy Spirit.

Key Principles from the Teaching

Progression

  • The words show a logical advancement from verbal request (ask) to active search (seek) to relentless, unwavering endeavor (knock).

Persistence:

  • The verbs' constant present tense suggests a steady, continuous effort in prayer and in seeking God.

God's Character:

  • Jesus teaches this to show God isn't like a reluctant human but a loving Father who gives good gifts (like the Holy Spirit and wisdom) to His children who genuinely seek Him.

Faith & Trust:

  • It builds faith and dependence, showing God desires relationship and responds in love, reinforcing that prayer is never futile, though answers come in His perfect timing and will.

Jesus is teaching his father word.
